Cards can be made from card stock or plastic. Paper cardstock comes in various thickness and finishes to suit for different game styles. For example, some games require more stiffness of the card material for ease of shuffling. For instance: 260gsm cards without core will have less stiffness than 350gsm; and 300gsm with core (including white-, grey-, blue-, or black-core) will be most suitable for frequent shuffling in gameplay.
